Beloved S.A. Five Diamonds LL President Dennis Ortiz Has Passed Away
A profound sense of loss has settled over our entire S.A. Five Diamonds community. We mourn the passing of our League President, Dennis Ortiz, whose sudden departure has left an irreplaceable void.
Dennis was far more than an administrator; he was the heart and soul of our organization. His unwavering dedication was the foundation upon which our league thrived. For countless families, Dennis was a constant—a kind, smiling presence who embodied a pure love for the game and, most importantly, for our players. He poured his energy into creating a positive environment, often seen tending to our fields with care, ensuring they were perfect for our children.
His legacy is one of selfless kindness and commitment. While the dugouts will feel emptier without him, we take comfort in knowing his spirit will forever watch over our fields and players.
We ask our community to keep Dennis’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Out of the deepest respect for Dennis and to honor his memory, all league fields will remain closed for the remainder of this week through Monday. Games will resume on Tuesday, as we strive to play with the joy and sportsmanship he always championed. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
