Ashley Mahon Kenosha, WI Death,Obituary:Two Dead After Overnight House Fire in Pleasant Prairie
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — A devastating early morning house fire claimed two lives Thursday, leaving a community in mourning. The blaze erupted at a home on 116th Street, with authorities confirming the deaths of a 73-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, believed to be father and daughter.
The tragedy unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. in the 2600 block of 116th Street. Initial confusion over the address was quickly resolved as police, first on the scene, reported heavy flames engulfing the rear of the residence. The intensity of the fire prevented officers from entering without protective gear.

Upon arrival, Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue crews faced heavy smoke and flames, primarily concentrated on the Charlie side of the structure. They initiated an offensive attack as fire command relayed grave concerns that three victims might be trapped inside. Search operations were immediately ordered, and mutual aid was requested from the Kenosha Fire Department.
While a third individual managed to escape the inferno, the two others could not be saved. Although not officially released pending family notification, the victims have been identified in preliminary reports as Richard Ronald Mahon and Ashley Mahon, born in 1991. The two deceased were transported to separate hospitals—Froedtert and Aurora Medical Center.
In the wake of the fire, a full investigative task force and the medical examiner’s office descended on the scene. Grieving family members were directed to the Pleasant Prairie Police Department to meet with investigators and authorities. The home, heavily damaged, was eventually boarded up as the investigation into the cause of this fatal fire continues.
