Authorities have identified the man found deceased inside a burning vehicle in Cumru Township, Pennsylvania, as Elvin Francisco De La Cruz Martinez, 44, of Reading. According to officials, the discovery was made on Sunday after emergency crews responded to reports of a vehicle fire in a remote area along South 9th Street, near the Reading city line. Upon arrival, firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and, during their response, located a body inside the vehicle.
Law enforcement and the coroner’s office were immediately notified, and the scene was secured as part of an active investigation. The remains were subsequently transported for further examination.
An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday; however, authorities have stated that the cause and manner of death are still pending as the investigation continues. At this time, officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident.
